SMATV - Satellite Master Antenna Television

SMATV systems are often used in environments where the number and type of channels available needs to be controlled, i.e. care homes, prisons, hospitals and holiday resorts and hotels. A head-end unit is installed to receive the signals from a digital aerial, satellite dish or in most cases both. The SMATV head unit then processes these signals in to the distribution network. The signal is then distributed to each point allowing individual users to access pre-selected freeview or satellite channels individually.

Pre-selected channels are decided by the owner of teh system and subscriptions may be required.

All equipment is earth bonded ensuring that in the event of a fault or hazardous voltage occurring these are removed safely.
